Dear Colleagues, Friends and Family:

We appreciate your emails sending your thoughts and wellbeing wishes on the tragedy that happened in Ecuador this past Saturday, April 16. The 7.8 earthquake stroke Ecuador’s coastal regions and destroyed many towns, villages and lives. Fortunately all members of the Bermeo Law Family are safe.

With a lot of luck, the signors below survived the earthquake having been in the very epicenter in Pedernales, a small beach town you probably saw completely destroyed in the news. After one day stuck in destroyed roads at the countryside, they were able to make their way back to Quito safely, and managed to rescue two tourists on their way out.

However, there are lots of people who were not as lucky and lost everything: their families, their only roof, and all of their belongings. Where many died (today’s count approx. 700 dead, 3,000 injured) life gave us a second chance, and we want to help! So, we are personally involved:

We have set up an online fund to provide help to those people, destined to first aid supplies, and then building shelters and homes. Donations can be made by credit card from any part of the world.

If you would like to take part in this cause, please follow the link below:

While any dollar donated makes a difference, we are also thankful for your spreading of this cause! We are happy to provide any further information at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..

Yours faithfully,
